FLOWER SEEDS
Calendula Double
Calendula DoubleCalendula is a flower found wild in nature and can be planted as an ornamental plant in the garden, as well as in pots on our balcony. A native plant in Southern Europe, a cousin of the daisy, the calendula stands out for its lovely large bright yellow and orange flowers, as well as its medicinal properties. A favorite choice of gardeners, calendula has a long flowering period from early spring to late autumn. Calendula thrives in sunny positions in fields and fields that have a low elevation. If we plant it in a pot in shade or semi-shade, it will survive showing reduced flowering. Calendula can withstand high temperatures, but is sensitive to temperatures close to 0°C. For this reason, although it is considered a perennial plant, calendula usually lives for one year, as it cannot withstand the frost of winter. Regarding transplanting, calendula needs cool and fertile soil that retains moisture, while if we plant it in a pot we will use general purpose potting soil with enough perlite to retain moisture.
Sunflower
SunflowerThe sunflower, the well-known sunflowers, is a favorite summer plant to decorate our garden or balcony to give us its impressive flowering. The name of the sunflower comes from the fact that its head constantly turns towards the sun’s rays during the day and turns again, in the morning hours, towards the east. The dwarf varieties of sunflower, which reach up to 40-50 cm in height, are suitable for pots, while for the garden we prefer the taller varieties that exceed one meter and are also edible.
Eschscholzia
EschscholziaDemorphoteca
DemorphotecaDemorphoteca is a perennial, herbaceous flowering plant native to South Africa that blooms from spring to autumn and produces many daisy-shaped flowers. Demorphoteca is a favorite plant of horticulturists in gardens and rock gardens, while it is also chosen by amateur gardeners for planting in pots, planters and hanging baskets. There are two types of Demorphoteca, the upright varieties and the creeping varieties. We choose the rectangular bi-shaped containers to give a more compact shape to the flowers in pots and planters. We plant the creeping Demorphoteca for ground cover in the garden and create a blooming carpet of flowers.
