Violet
Violet, which is also found with the name menexes or katimeri, is one of the first spring flower plants with a characteristic aroma and flowers. Its leaves are gray-green, lanceolate and covered with a white fluff. The colors we meet are red, white, purple, pink and blue. We can choose violet varieties with single or double flowers to plant in the garden or in a flowerpot on the balcony. It requires sunny planting sites. To plant violet in a pot or planter on the balcony, we choose a protected place with western or eastern exposure and use universal potting soil, rich in nutrients. It is important to put small support pegs to tie the violets, while at the same time we must remove the flowers as soon as they dry out to enhance its flowering. Due to its sensitivity to fungal infestations, too regular watering should be avoided.
