Gardenia, secrets for its care!
Gardenias (Gardenia jasmimoides) are cultivated today as pot plants. Its popularity is due to its large white flowers and its glossy dark green foliage makes it really attractive. It presents two periods of vigorous vegetation accompanied by abundant flowering: spring and autumn. In winter it does not grow or bloom, while in the summer months it shows little growth. The flowering period is highly dependent on the ambient night temperature, which should be between 17°C and 20°C. Above 20°C, its foliage will develop, but the development of its buds will be greatly reduced.
Gardenias need at least 4-5 hours a day of sun exposure and the soil must always be kept fresh because drought causes chlorosis and leaf drop.
It is propagated by extreme cuttings at any time.
We recommend FLORIAN Gardenia-Camelia, available in supermarkets!
